Gregg
Downey
Gregg
Downey turned professional in 1986 after a successful
collegiate and amateur career. He joined the Portland
State Viking Golf Team in 1981, by his Junior year he
was named team captain and in ‘85’86 he
achieved NCAA All-American Status in 85’86. As
a winner of four collegiate tournaments and the 1986
Portland City Amateur Championship he became recognized
as one of the Northwest’s top amateur golfers.
After
turning professional in 1986 he continued his play on
various mini-tours home and abroad with his most success
on Southern California’s Golden State Tour. In
1990 he turned his focus to teaching and learning more
about the swing and how to communicate his understanding
of it to students that shared his same passion for the
game. His passion to play still shows as he regularly
competes in tournaments and sets his sites on the Senior
Tour.
Gregg
currently does a semi-weekly radio guest appearance
for KDUS radio in Phoenix. On the show he comments on
upcoming golf tournaments and golf news.
Additionally, Gregg would be happy to give you or your
